The European Entrepreneurship Summit (EES) has been established in 2020 in order to engage the European policymaker community with the fast growing tech community and relevant ecosystem counterparts like investors, corporate innovators and academia. The goal is to create a mutual understanding of the key opportunities and the main obstacles for accelerating the growth and the impact by the fast growing tech community.
The EES has been established as a policy side-event of CES Unveiled Amsterdam, which already gathers these stakeholders in a prelude to the largest Tech event of the world: CES Las Vegas. Where CES Unveiled aims to inspire, inform and connect, the EES takes the conversation one level deeper, to explore the key topics that can be influenced by policymakers on national and European levels. Highly curated guests from the different backgrounds discuss about a proposed Call to Action, and provide extra direction towards the implementation of the CtA. The Call to Action will be presented in the SME Assembly, to get a broader support for the activities needed to boost impact entrepreneurship.
In this second edition the EES brought together 80+ European policy makers, investors, corporate innovators, academics, and entrepreneurs from 15 different countries to discuss this year’s topic, Entrepreneurship for Societal Change. The participants discussed this topic through the lens of three interconnected sub-themes:
• Impact Entrepreneurship
• Impact Investment
• Impact Innovation
